The North Fork Championship V wrapped up June 18, and if you weren’t lucky enough to make it to Idaho to watch in person, here’s what you missed.

Three whitewater kayaking races

The event began with the Kokatat Expert Division, a one-mile downriver sprint on the lowest rapids of the North Fork Payette. Pedro Andrade Astorga placed first (7:06:99), Alec Voorhees second (7:12:80) and Dane Jackson third (7:14:44).

In the North Face BoaterX on June 17, six heats of six paddlers battled it out down S-Turn rapid on the North Fork. Dane Jackson placed first, Matias Lopez second and Kyle Hull third.

On June 18, the last day of the championship featured the Elite Division, a giant slalom race through seven gates on the class V+ whitewater of Jacob’s Ladder and Golf Course. Athletes were given two runs, with the best time counted. Dane Jackson came first (1:57:60), Tad Dennis second (1:58:28) and Kyle Hull third (1:59:00). Full race results can be seen here.
