What do you get when you add Nouria Newman, Mike Roy and a tandem whitewater kayak? A tandem descent of New Zealand's Huka Falls, an 11-meter drop on the North Island, near Taupo. Newman is a skilled all around paddler, competing in slalom, freestyle and extreme kayaking. She is well-known for being the first woman to complete a portage-less descent of the Stikine River. Mike Roy is a French-Canadian kayaker and part of the Quebec Connection. You can check out a sweet photo of him hucking a waterfall near Quebec City in the current issue of Rapid.
