When looking at many options for fishing kayaks, I had doubts about spending over $2k on a first-generation pedal-drive model from Perception. After 1.5 years and 200+km on my Pilot, I realize my doubts were completely unfounded. This kayak is smooth, moves very quickly and is extremely stable. It has a good amount of storage and I was able to fit 3 nights and 4 days worth of camping supplies on it without feeling anxious about tipping. In fact, I have not tipped this kayak once since purchasing it, despite getting hung up on some rocks in fast-moving shallows near Fitzroy Harbour. I can easily stand up while fishing, which is also great...although you may not want to, as the seat is more comfortable than any other that I tried. I have dropped it off the top of my SUV multiple times, without so much as a crack in the hull. At 85ish pounds, it's at least 15lb lighter than a Predator PDL and $1000+ less expensive. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is having second thoughts about purchasing a Pilot PDL.

Pros:
quick
good turn radius
perfect gear ratio
very stable
super comfortable
sonar-ready, no hole drilling required

Cons:
weeds will gum up the prop (but it is easy to free up)
steering cables require monthly tightning
