I’ll start by saying this is my first kayak and I bought it for fishing the Mississippi River here in central Minnesota where the water is to shallow for my boat. I have also used it on small lakes that have no boat access.
I have found it to be a stable kayak even when wake boats are rude. I have taken it on the river when it’s very high and fast and it felt stable then also. At first I thought I’d add floats on the sides but they would be unnecessary.
I did buy this for fishing and a good fishing platform it is. I replaced the front rod holder with one that is more adjustable. Although I don’t still fish with a bobber I do put the rod in it while unhooking a fish.
I don’t think it tracks that well or it might be my paddle style, for that reason I made a rudder for for it. I added about 1” of foam to the seat and found it comfortable during an 8 hour fishing trip. I’m 5’9” and I don’t know if it would be comfortable for someone much taller.
For the price I am very satisfied with this kayak. It’s a price low enough to get most people off the bank and out on the water. I am sure there are better ones but not for this price.
