Almaco Amber Jack in Guam Raf Vargas

Jigging At 1200 feet for Almaco Amber Jack's

Sailfish, bonitos and tunas were camera shy but this Almaco Amber Jack was hooked in very deep water on the first drop. One of the longest fights I have ever had from the yak. Jigging with 500-700 gram jigs helps me fight strong deep currents while reaching depths of up to 1200 feet. My fluorocarbon leader was splitting after the exhausting fight. The stability of the Hobie Kayak allows me to alternate positions while working heavy lures in various depths. The last few months we have been fighting multiple typhoons hitting this area as well as very windy and unruly ocean conditions. Hope that you enjoy my video.
