When the water is cold, throw a jerkbait with a long pause and slow cadence.

"Early spring is the time for giants!" said Yak Fish TV member Jon Leavitt. "It takes an enormous amount of patience to coax these big girls into biting when the water temp is just a few degrees above freezing. I caught this nice largemouth bass on a suspending  jerkbait. The presentation was painfully slow but in the end it paid off!"
