Always be on your A game looking for a new personal best, even in winter.

"Josh Sherrill caught this Arkansas giant on January 2nd, the first trip of the year," said Jeff Malott. "Water was high, muddy, and 47 degrees. Josh and I decided to get out before Arkansas's bowl game on Jan 2nd and chose one of our small local lakes for the first trip of the year. With recent heavy rains and flooding, we figured the lake would be high and muddy, we were right.

With the low visibility and water temps in the high 40s we figured it would be a slow day, but were still happy to be out. After drifting apart and working the steep bank near the dam I heard Josh scream "I've got a giant!" I spun and started paddling his way expecting a solid fish, but what he hoisted out of the water was a 24.25" hawg! This blew away his personal best and made for a heck of a start to the New Year! (Side note: Arkansas dominated their bowl game)
