Paddlesports icon adds and improves life vests and active wear

Long-time paddlesports outfitter NRS is throwing its experience and expertise into kayak fishing for 2019. NRS has redesigned some of its most popular products to better serve anglers. They started by redesigning their popular Chinook life vest. Adding multilayer foam allows the vest to conform to the wearer’s body. Softer material on the inside feels comfortable against the skin. NRS reorganized the pockets to be lower profile while still storing a ton of gear. We like the integrated rod holder that makes it easy to rig up while standing in the kayak.

A cool pliers sheath holds tools in easy reach. The OS model is designed for offshore fishing with a special pocket for VHF. NRS added a women’s model called the Shenook that is carved to fit curvy bodies. The Raku life vest has some of same cool features with a full back floatation more comfortable on high back on a frame seat. A new inflatable PFD is great for summer and SUP anglers. The air bladders fold out so they are easy to repack after inflating and keeps the PFD close to the body. NRS also added to their apparel line with shirts, pants and outwear designed to be worn under a life vest. The summer shirts are UPF 50 and vents and pockets are placed where they won’t interfere with a PFD.
