waterproof layering system and kids lifevest bring tactical design to weekend warriors

Mustang Survival continues to reach out to recreational watersports enthusiasts with products inspired by their work with military and rescue groups.

The Hudson drysuit is their first offering for cold-water paddlers. The suit starts with Mustang’s Marine Spec material that is breathable and waterproof. To reduce fracture points they reduced the number of seams and used four-layer material in high-friction areas like the butt. They reinforced the knees with thin padding and used a tough, stretchy material for the socks. Articulated joints improve movement and reduce stretching that could compromise the material. Our favorite feature is the internal suspenders that support the pants. The neck uses a comfort seal that can be adjusted for a loose or tight closure and the wrist gaskets can be cut to fit. Pockets in the thigh and upper arm are accessible even when sitting or wearing a lifevest. The Hudson will cost $1000.

Mustang also added more active wear to their offerings, we like the Callan breathable waterproof jacket paired with the Torrens midlayer with military-grade Polartec material. We have much love for the designers at Mustang who put complete thought and effort into their youth lifejackets. The new Rev PFD uses a soft, no chafe material and mesh back that little ones will love to wear.
