Paddle, pedal or motor the 360 Angler

Jackson Kayak and sister brand Blue Sky took top honors winning Best Boat category at ICAST 2018 awards for the 360 Angler. After introducing the unique catamaran-style paddlecraft at last year’s Paddlesports Retailer show, Blue Sky spent the winter perfecting the design and adding the new Flex Drive pedal system.

The pontoons are 48-inches wide for unshakable stability. A pedestal seat gives the driver a better view of the water and a more comfortable pedaling position. The 360 Angler is rigged with drop down wheels that allow one person to roll the big boat to the water. Paddle, pedal or motor the 360 Angler with an available trolling motor bracket.

The base model comes in at $3400. Jackson Kayaks big news was split between the new Big Rig HD FlexDrive and their new electric motor.

The Big Rig HD Flex Drive features beefed up hatch and design. A large, removable section of the deck can be replaced with a bracket to hold the Flex Drive pedal system. The boat is carefully designed to function equally well as a paddlecraft or pedalcraft.

Purchase the boat in the paddle form then add pedals later. Or paddle it on short trips in shallow water then switch to pedals when the going gets tough. We got a look at the long-awaited E-Drive electric motor that will complement the Flex Drive. Pull out the pedal unit of the Flex Drive and replace it with the electric motor. The motor runs on 12 volt or lithium ion battery.
