A young Canadian entrepreneur is proud to carry on Bill Scott’s pioneering legacy.

For 53 years, Mid-Canada Fiberglass Ltd. took inspiration from Bill Scott’s passion for paddling to produce top of the line canoes and kayaks that consistently led to industry innovation, design, quality and durability.

Sadly, in 2013 the former manufacturer declared bankruptcy.

“We are thrilled to bring back Bill Scott’s passion and innovative spirit to meet the demands of a growing market," says Guillaume Leblanc, globetrotter and founder of the new company that will produce the canoes and kayaks in Northern Quebec, Canada.

Scott, BlueWater & Impex’s brand will remain the same but they will be integrated under a new company name that will be launched in early spring 2015.

“We want to offer more than great products. We want to share our passion for the outdoors, our commitment to maintain its beauty and rally the community to take part in the wilderness activism movement," says JD Petit, outdoorsman & Director of Marketing.

The company is thrilled to work with members of MCF’s team. Brigitte Charland will continue to lend her expertise in crafting the original molds that helped build the company’s reputable name.

“We’re already seeing strong interest and we are ready to meet the demand,” says Eric Boucher, avid paddler and Director of Production.

All signature models, including the Prospector, the Freedom, the Saugeen and the Force series, will be available.
