Daily Photo: Allagash Moose Photo: John Sorel

Adventure Kayak reader John Sorel's favorite section of the magazine is our Stills photo gallery. "I love to see the photos submitted by other kayakers," writes Sorel, who enjoys capturing his own images while paddling. "I just want to share my photos and adventures."

For the past decade, Sorel and a group of friends have launched on a weeklong kayaking trip every September/October, the perfect time of year "to avoid the crowds and bugs," he explains. "It's typically still fairly warm although it can get pretty cold at night."

Sorel snapped this photo of a moose cow and calf on Maine's Allagash River. He's also toured in the Adirondacks, Connecticut River and Delaware Water Gap.
