A performance-minded new mid-size option is added to the Sitka lineup

Eddyline has expanded its Sitka series offerings with the all-new Sitka LT, a lightweight kayak with excellent maneuverability and perfect fit. Paddling Magazine caught up with Eddyline's Ethan Ebersold at the 2018 Paddlesports Retailer show in Oklahoma City to get a tour of the new addition to the lineup.

The new Sitka LT is a lightweight, high-performing day touring kayak designed to fit the medium- to large-frame paddler. It's the mid-size offering in the Sitka line at 14.5 feet long and 23.5 inches wide, and it tips the scales at 49 pounds.

The Sitka LT joins the larger 15'3” Stika XT, previously know as the Denali, and the smaller 13'9” Stika ST, which was previously called the Samba. This versatile series is suited for paddlers interested in day trips as well as long weekend tours.

“They're perfect for light day touring to an extended weekend,” says Ebersold. “What I really like about them is you can keep up with longer kayaks, but they're not overkill for an evening paddle.”

“Once you've discovered this line of boats is for you, it's really about fit,” says Ebersold. “The stability of a touring boat really comes from how your body interacts with it. And so we have three different model for three different body types and sizes.”

The Sitka line is generously featured with keyhole cockpits, padded thigh braces and padded hip pads. The fully-outfitted kayaks also features a six-inch forward day hatch, compass mount, perimeter lines, retractable handles, deck bungees and an upgraded ergonomic Infinity Seat System that comes standard. The seat has five seat positioning heights, and the sliding seat can help adjust trim. The Stikas also come standard with retractable skegs.

The MSRP for the ST is $1,999, the LT is $2,195 and the XT is $2,399.
