SAWYER PADDLES INTRODUCES THE COPPERHEAD: Sawyer Paddles and Oars are
introducing The Copperhead, a new whitewater kayak paddle designed and
built with playboaters in mind.
Sawyer Paddles introduces a new Whitewater Play paddle for Spring ‘08
Designed and built with playboaters in mind, the Copperhead features an
all carbon bent shaft, Sawyer’s “V-Lam”™ Western Red Cedar core blades,
carbon and fiberglass blade reinforcement, a carbon powerface and a
Dynel Xtra-ToughEdge™.
Weighing in at 33oz, the Copperhead has a competitive weight and it’s
17.5”L x 8.5” W blades provide enough power and response needed to
perform today’s playboat/freestyle moves. The responsive, ergonomic
carbon bent shaft offers comfortable, indexed grip zones that allow for
the paddlers hands and wrists to maintain a relaxed grip.
Not only is the Copperhead lightweight, it’s also tough! “…it’s
definitely the toughest paddle blade that we’ve made.” - Ed Preston,
Sawyer’s Production Manager.
“…the Copperhead has gone through extensive development as well as
testing on proving grounds like Skookumchuck wave, the Rio Grande, the
Futalafu and the creeks of Southern Oregon and Northern California. I
personally, have been paddling the Copperhead on some of the local IV
& IV+ runs and I’ve been completely stoked on its durability and
feel!” - Jon “Shaggy” McLaughlin, Marketing Manager at Sawyer.
“The Sawyer Copperhead is a work of art and function…the ergonomic
grip is the best I’ve used and the blades cleanly engage faster than
any other paddle out there.” – John Fullbright, Professional
Photographer, Guide and Kayak Instructor.
Sawyer Paddles and Oars also plans to release a whitewater kayak creeking paddle in late spring/early summer 2008.
MSRP on the Copperhead: $299.95. Sizes: 191cm – 200 available in 2 cm increments.
