Reel Paddling Film Festival Breaking Records
Palmer Rapids, ON, April 9, 2008–Rapid Media, producers of the Reel Paddling Film Festival, announced today that its 2008 World Tour is now booked in 65 cities and higher-than-ever audience sizes make it the largest paddling film festival in the world.
With the final tour schedule expected to exceed 75 venues, the RPFF will put the year’s best paddling films in front of 15,000 new and enthusiast paddlers across North America. Film festival Director Scott MacGregor is excited to see the festival grow. “The festival is doing exactly what we hoped it would,” says MacGregor. “It is getting audiences excited to paddle, it highlights the year’s best films and filmmakers, and offers shops, clubs and events a venue to bring together their customers, members and friends.”
Average audience size for this year’s World Tour is 200 per screening. In Sudbury the Laurentian Outdoor Adventure Leadership program and Ramakko’s packed 263 into the university’s Fraser Auditorium. REI in Arlington, Massachusetts, expects more than 1,000 to attend their April 16 and 17 shows. And Adirondack Paddlefest in Old Forge, New York, is expecting 1,500 at their screenings on May 16, 17 and 18.
