120-Foot Waterfalls in New York City |

PALMER RAPIDS, ON – New York city creek boaters will surely be scouting the four new waterfall being build this summer in the Big Apple. The creator of the public art exhibit hopes people will look at water in diferent ways. These innercity first descents will only run for three months.
The waterfall project is expected to cost $15 million and generate $55 million in tourism revenues for the city. Funding for the project is expect to come from private donations from New York's Public Art Fund.
Although may New York City paddlers likely dream of 90-120 footers in their backyard the idea of the project belongs to a Danish artist Ofafur Eliasson. He has plans pouring water off the Brooklyn Bridge as well as from free-standing scaffolding into the East River and New York Harbour.
The release dates for these new waterfall is between mid-July and mid-October, with lights at night.
No word yet if American Whitewater will be fighting for legal whitewater access or if Tao Berman will be there filming.
